I've used this plug and receptacle on many boats many times. It has always proved reliable and, when mounted properly, the receptacle is very aesthetically pleasing. Both the plug and receptacle are well made. I've never worn one of these sets out, but the longest I've ever used a set continuously was five years. After five years of heavy use both the plug and receptacle seemed as solid as when they were new. It is also worth nothing that these are great for other uses where you may need a low-voltage plug to provide power to a device, such as for an inverter or a spot light. I've even used them to plug in removable solar panels for charging. I give this product a five star rating because I've used it many times, and even for applications outside of its intended purpose, and it has never failed to meet or exceed my expectations for functionality and durability. My only gripe is the three holes in the plug's cover where the wires pass through. I wish you could get this in a single-hole option as I occasionally use multi-strand cables with it, but it's no biggie. As it is intended for a trolling motor the cover is actually well designed.

Bought this for a new minn kota power drive v2, 45. The wires fit perfectly from the motor. The male connector has an O-ring as a water barrier and probably needs to be conditioned once or twice a year with petrolium jelly or similar product. Overall a good solid product. Can't say if it will hold up, but I see no reason it wouldn't.

Only problem I encountered is the wire holders on the installed female plug do not hold wires well. You need to solder them so they don't collapse as they are tightened. They take the shape and are then easily pulled out. The male plug wire holders are different design and hold wire very well as is. Once installed, the unit is great and works as advertised.
